Dick Baldwin is a member of Parr Brown’s appellate and commercial litigation practice groups. In his practice, Dick focuses on appeals, having represented clients across a wide range of industries in civil, administrative and criminal appeals. He has extensive experience in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, as well as in Utah’s state appellate courts.

Dick’s previous experience includes working at Utah’s premier appellate boutique, where he handled matters involving commercial disputes, criminal prosecutions, wrongful death, civil rights, constitutional issues, probate, Fair Housing Act claims, and others. He was a law clerk for Judge Scott Matheson Jr, in the United State Circuit Court for the Tenth Circuit, and for Judge Ted Stewart in the United States District Court for the District of Utah.

Dick has been consistently recognized since 2021 by Mountain States Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” and by Utah Business magazine as one of Utah’s Legal Elite in 2021 and 2022. He earned his J.D. from the University of Utah, S.J. Quinney College of Law, Order of the Coif, where he was Editor-in Chief of the Utah Law Review, a member of the National Moot Court Team, and a William H. Leary Scholar.  As a member of the college’s national moot court team, he was awarded the Lewis F. Powell Medal for Excellence in Advocacy and the Best Brief Award at the 2013 National Moot Court competition co-sponsored by the American College of Trial Lawyers and the New York City Bar Association.
