Rita Cornish is a member of the firm’s commercial litigation group with a focus on construction litigation and toxic tort defense. She received her J.D. from the University of Utah with Highest Honors, Order of the Coif and was the Note and Comment Editor for the Journal of Law and Family Studies. Ms. Cornish also holds a PH.D. in Chemistry from the University of Utah.
Before joining Parr Brown, Ms. Cornish clerked for the Honorable Carolyn B. McHugh on the Utah Court of Appeals. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the S.J. Quinney College of Law as the President-Elect for the Young Alumni Association and on the Executive Committee of the Salt Lake County Bar Association.
Ms. Cornish was the recipient of the University of Utah’s S.J. Quinney College of Law Young Alumna of the Year award in 2009. She has been recognized in the 2009-2019 editions of Mountain States Super Lawyers and by Utah Business magazine as one of Utah’s Legal Elite in corporate law. Most recently Ms. Cornish has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America for her work in commercial litigation.
