Parr Brown Gee & Loveless is proud to announce that Patricia W. Christensen will be awarded the YWCA’s 2018 Outstanding Achievement Award in Law at its 30th Annual Leader Luncheon on Friday, September 7, at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City.   This recognition is presented by YWCA Utah to remarkable women who have demonstrated their commitment to advancing the well-being of Utah women and girls, and whose work and achievement exemplify the YWCA’s mission of eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.

“The lawyers at Parr Brown are thrilled that Pat is receiving this well-deserved recognition.  She has been a role model and mentor for the firm’s lawyers for almost four decades, and her leadership and influence, especially among the firm’s women lawyers, has been profoundly positive,” said Parr Brown President Jonathan O. Hafen.  Ms. Christensen was one of the firm’s earliest lawyers, and was instrumental in helping build the firm and its commercial litigation practice, serving twice as its President, and in many other leadership capacities over the years.

Ms. Christensen is also a founding member, past president and current board member of Women Lawyers of Utah, a mentor with the Utah State Bar’s New Lawyer Training Program, founded and leads a mentoring group for women lawyers, serves or has served as an officer and director of numerous other professional, civic and charitable organizations, has been a lifelong social justice advocate, and is an active member of the Utah Citizens’ Council focusing on the impact of economic inequality on our society, especially as it affects minorities and women.

She has been repeatedly recognized by the Utah State Bar, Women Lawyers of Utah, the Utah Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and the ABA for her distinguished service to the profession and her efforts on behalf of women and girls, and has also been recognized as one of The Best Lawyers in America, as a member of Utah’s Legal Elite, and as a Mountain States Super Lawyer in Business Litigation.

A 1977 graduate of the University of Houston College of Law, Ms. Christensen focuses her practice in the area of complex commercial litigation.
