Roger Henriksen employs his background in accounting and over thirty years in law to help his clients achieve their business objectives. Specializing in energy, construction, industrial contracting and real property law, he is continuously recognized by his peers and clients for his outstanding customer service and innovative solutions.

Roger has extensive experience representing public and private owners and contractors in a variety of industries in matters involving acquisition and development, industrial operations and improvements, construction, partnering relationships, contract negotiation, and dispute resolution.  His extensive experience with real estate development, land use planning and entitlements; service, supply and transportation contracts, joint ventures, acquisitions and divestitures, and leases is complemented by his work with administrative proceedings, including land use, and lobbying for and drafting of laws and regulations.

Roger also serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Hale Centre Theatre, is past President of the Grand Theatre Advisory Board, past Vice-Chair of Utah Taxpayers’ Association and a former Chair of the Law Committee for the Associated General Contractors of Utah.

Mr. Henriksen has been awarded an AV rating – the highest awarded by Martindale-Hubbell.  He has also been continuously listed in Utah Business magazine as one of Utah’s Legal Elite in construction and real estate, and Best Lawyers in America 2007-2017 editions in Construction, Government Relations Practice and Real Estate law.  Mr. Henriksen was also named “Lawyer of the Year” in Construction Law (2015), and “Lawyer of the Year” in Government Relations Practice (2017) by Best Lawyers.

A graduate of the University of Utah, Mr. Henriksen earned his B.S. degree in Accounting, magna cum laude, and his J.D. from the University of Utah, Order of the Coif, where he served as Executive Editor of the Utah Law Review.  He clerked for the Honorable Judge Alden J. Anderson, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Utah.

In addition to his real property design and construction practice, Mr. Henriksen provides legal services in areas such as land use planning and entitlements, service and supply contracts, joint ventures, acquisitions and divestitures, leases, and transportation contracts. Roger Henriksen has extensive experience representing public and private owners in matters involving land use planning, zoning, redevelopment, real estate, leasing, acquisition and development, construction, partnering relationships, contract negotiation, and dispute resolution. In addition, Mr. Henriksen provides legal services in areas such as joint ventures, acquisitions and divestitures. He is also experienced in administrative proceedings, including land use proceedings before planning commissions, councils, county commissions and boards of adjustment.

Mr. Henriksen has been the lead attorney in obtaining annexation, land use and zoning permits and approvals for variety of uses, including industrial, retail, commercial, recreational and residential mixed uses.  His representation has included creation of zoning districts, negotiating tax increment, obtaining development and vested rights agreements with local government agencies, drafting of zoning and impact fee ordinances and negotiation of subdivision improvement agreements.

Mr. Henriksen acted as lead counsel in annexation and zoning of a major industrial site in Utah County and in the incorporation of the Town of Vineyard in Utah County, Utah.

For over 20 years Mr. Henriksen has represented on a regular basis numerous landowners and developers before county commissions, city councils, planning commissions, redevelopment agencies and boards of adjustment.

Mr. Henriksen’s practice also involves the negotiation and drafting of joint venture, partnership, acquisition, disposition and other agreements between redevelopment agencies, governmental entities, owners, developers, engineers, contractors and others, including coordination of risk, indemnity and insurance issues.

Mr. Henriksen has also acted as lead attorney in obtaining, retaining and modifying legislation and regulations, including drafting of legislation, testimony before legislative committees, and negotiating sessions with legislative commissions and Legislators.

With regard to condominium projects, master planned communities and community associations, Mr. Henriksen has provided representation for formation, approval, development, sales, marketing and operations.
