About Chris Shiraldi

Chris Shiraldi is a member of Parr Brown’s Real Estate and Natural Resources practice groups. He specializes in real estate, natural resource, and other commercial transactions.

Prior to joining Parr Brown, Chris held several in-house legal positions, most recently with the Utah School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration (SITLA). At SITLA, he represented the agency’s real estate development group in a wide range of matters, including complex development transactions involving major developers, municipalities, and counties. Chris developed an expertise in negotiating and drafting a broad spectrum of high-value and complex real estate transactions, including development agreements, purchase and sale agreements, land exchange agreements, joint venture arrangements, and the creation of public infrastructure districts.

Chris also advised SITLA on energy and mineral development matters, including oil and gas and renewable energy projects. His work encompassed leasing, exploration agreements, federal unit agreements, and royalty disputes. He collaborated with various federal agencies to negotiate conservation agreements that balanced the protection of sensitive species with the preservation of development rights. Additionally, he worked extensively with state agencies such as the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), and the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to advance his clients’ development objectives.

Before joining SITLA, Chris served as Senior Attorney with Eclipse Resources Corporation and Montage Resources Corporation, where he led asset acquisitions and divestitures, managed high-stakes royalty and other litigation, and supported all other aspects of the business, including operations, finance, and human resources. He began his career at Chesapeake Energy Corporation and as a law clerk for the Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration’s Office of Chief Counsel.

Chris takes a hands-on approach to managing transactions from inception through closing, leveraging his experience and relationships across both public and private sectors to deliver favorable outcomes for his clients and build partnerships grounded in trust and collaboration.

He earned his Juris Doctor from The Pennsylvania State University, Dickinson School of Law, where he was Senior Editor of the Penn State International Law Review, and his article was published. Chris is admitted to practice in Utah, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
