Stanley Neeleman practices law in the areas of federal taxation, estate planning and business planning. Mr. Neeleman received the Federal Bar Association award for significant contributions to the development and practice of federal law and was selected by the Utah State Bar Tax Section as Tax Practitioner of the Year. He has served as Professor-in-Residence and Acting Assistant to the Commissioner at the National Office of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). He has authored books and articles dealing with tax, estate and business planning and has developed sophisticated software to facilitate the delivery of estate planning and other legal services.
Mr. Neeleman is a fellow of both the American College of Tax Counsel and the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and served as president of the Tax and Estate Planning Sections of the Utah State Bar. He is a professor emeritus of law at the J. Reuben Clark Law School, where for over 30 years he taught courses in income and transfer taxation, estate and business planning and professional responsibility. Prior to joining Parr Brown as of counsel, Mr. Neeleman was a partner at Holme Roberts & Owen, Denver, Colorado.
Mr. Neeleman was included in The Best Lawyers in America® 2007-2023 editions for Corporate Law, Tax Law, and Trusts and Estates. He was named Best Lawyers® “Lawyer of the Year” in the areas of Trusts and Estates (2014), (2020) and Tax Law (2018) in Utah. He is recognized by Utah Business magazine as one of Utah’s Legal Elite in 2018. He has also been continually listed in Mountain States Super Lawyers. Mr. Neeleman has been awarded an AV rating – the highest awarded by Martindale-Hubbell and was selected by Marquis Who’s Who as a recipient of its 2018 Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award for his biography in its Who’s Who in the World 2019 Edition.
