About Steven R. Glauser

Steve Glauser practices in the litigation group. He has extensive experience in many areas of litigation including commercial and corporate litigation, contract, construction, landlord-tenant, intellectual property and copyright, probate, insurance, employment, mass tort, wrongful death, medical malpractice, and serious personal injury. He has successfully represented clients as both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts.

Some of his representative achievements include:

  • Won over $10,000,000 in an arbitration award against a utility company on behalf of rural Utah cattle ranchers whose property was burned in the 2020 Canal Wildfire, notwithstanding the company’s continual denial of liability throughout the litigation;
  • Recovered a substantial seven-figure amount beyond insurance policy limits for multiple tenants of the Silverado Apartments in downtown Salt Lake City, some of whom were burned and killed in the 2022 apartment fire;
  • Recovered millions of dollars for his clients in motor vehicle accidents, medical malpractice, and other personal injury actions;
  • Defeated a multi-million-dollar claim brought against an IT company arising out of a data breach and cyber ransomware attack;
  • Defeated a two-million-dollar claim brought against the manufacturer of fall protection systems alleging damages arising out of a fall that damaged a private jet;
  • Ipsen v. Diamond Tree Experts, 2020 UT 30 (successful appeal before the Utah Supreme Court clarifying the professional rescuer doctrine, leading to a large monetary recovery for the injured firefighter); and
  • Airstar Corp. v. Keystone Aviation, LLC, 2022 UT App 72 (successful appeal defeating multi-million-dollar claims brought against a fixed base operator of private airplane hangars at the Salt Lake City International Airport, and recovering all of his client’s attorneys fees from the adverse party).

Steve also advises and contracts for his corporate clients. He negotiates and crafts legal documents to meet his clients’ needs including master services agreements, distribution agreements, commercial leases, independent contractor agreements, construction agreements, noncompete and nonsolicitation agreements, and others.

Steve earned his Juris Doctor from the George Washington University Law School where he was a George Washington Scholar (ranked in the top of his class) and a member of The George Washington Law Review. He received his B.A. from the University of Utah with honors where he was named Captain of the Men’s Lacrosse Team.

Prior to joining Parr Brown, Steve served as a legislative consultant for the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Washington, D.C. and represented petitioners in the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.

Steve has been recognized as a “Rising Star” of Mountain States Super Lawyers and one of Utah’s Legal Elite by Utah Business magazine.

When not practicing law, Steve enjoys exploring national parks with his wife and four sons, archery hunting big game in the backcountry, typical Wasatch Front hobbies (skiing, mountain biking, trail running, fishing, and hiking), attending University of Utah football games with his sons and musicals at Eccles Theater with his wife, and coaching youth sports.
