Parr Brown Gee & Loveless is pleased to announce that D. Craig Parry has been selected as President of the firm.
“Since returning from law school and a federal clerkship in Boston, Parr Brown has been my home for over 25 years. While over that time, and particularly the past two years, the legal market – and even the way of practicing law – has changed significantly, Parr Brown has stayed moored to the principles upon which it was founded 47 years ago by a handful of partners dissatisfied with their firms’ top-down management and economic incentives for attorneys that did not align with client’s best interests. Parr Brown’s unique open and fully democratic governance structure allows and demands that each attorney be actively engaged in firm management and take responsibility for the short- and long-term direction of the firm. Its compensation structure encourages and rewards efficient work, attorney collaboration, long-term client relationships, and effective utilization of various attorneys’ time and expertise. And most importantly, despite the fluctuating legal market, Parr Brown has remained consistently committed to exacting hiring standards, as its people are its most valuable asset.”

Mr. Parry frequently consults with U.S. companies expanding into foreign markets, bringing to their attention and advising them on legal issues that bear on their business plans and discussing with them ways to enter and operate in the foreign market that fit with the company’s goals and strategies and the relevant legal environment. Once a strategy has been set, Mr. Parry assists clients in setting up the business structure necessary to effectuate the plans, including establishing a presence in the foreign jurisdiction, and negotiating and drafting inter- and intra-company agreements, such as licensing, distribution, services, manufacturing, management, marketing, and joint venture agreements. He also advises clients in the U.S. and other countries concerning compliance with the European Union data privacy and security laws (such as the GDPR) and concerning best practices for clients in protecting electronic personal data.
