Congratulations to Jonathan Hafen!
Jon received the 2025 Lawyer of the Year award from the Utah State Bar. The luncheon and award ceremony were held at The Little America Hotel on November 14, 2025, as part of the Bar’s Fall Forum, and was attended by a large gathering of friends, family, colleagues, federal judges and peers.
This honor is granted each year to a member of the Utah State Bar who, over the course of an exceptional legal career, demonstrates the highest professionalism and ethical and personal conduct. The recipient is known for consistently rendering extraordinary contributions to the programs and activities of the Utah State Bar.
Jon’s outstanding legal career has reflected all of these qualities. He is widely recognized as one of Utah’s leading trial lawyers, known for his effective handling of complex litigation, receiverships, and high-stakes business disputes. Over his distinguished career, he has secured major trial victories and settlements, including multiple multimillion-dollar awards, and helped recover more than $1 billion for victims of large Ponzi schemes through his leadership in Parr Brown’s Receivership Group. Jon represents a broad range of clients, from start-ups to major national corporations.
Jon has consistently earned numerous accolades from Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America®, Mountain State Super Lawyers, and other leading publications. Most recently, Jon was honored by the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce with their 2025 President’s Award for Excellence, in recognition of his leadership, service and impact on Utah’s business community. Above all, the legal community in Utah and beyond recognizes Jon as a mentor, leader, and a supporter of various local charitable organizations and causes.
