Parr Brown Gee & Loveless is pleased to announce that Laura G. Kennedy was honored at the Utah Business “30 Women to Watch” luncheon held on May 30, 2024. This event celebrates women in Utah who are accomplishing truly amazing things in their respective fields, including state senators, CEOs, entrepreneurs, authors, arrivistes, and role models in the community.
Laura became President of Parr Brown Gee & Loveless on April 1, 2024. She is a Shareholder and trial lawyer specializing in commercial disputes and insurance coverage, often representing sophisticated clients involved in disputes with their insurance companies. She has become known for her creativity in finding solutions for clients’ legal needs through a deep understanding of their business operations. She has also organized the Parr Brown Women Lawyers group, which holds monthly meetings and seeks to create a forum for discussion for junior women at the firm.
Additionally, Laura founded the nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization Take Heart International and has been a member of its board of directors for approximately 13 years. Take Heart works to bring accessible education to rural areas of Zambia, including through the construction of two permanent elementary school buildings; by sponsoring students in secondary schools, teachers’ colleges, nursing colleges and the University of Zambia; and by providing solar panels for electricity, clean drinking water and school supplies. It also supports a school in Uganda that hundreds of children attend each year.
